ABOUT US

Former design journalist Miranda Fitzgerald founded Carousel with the aim of creating a lampshade brand that is bold, characterful and sustainable.

The entire process, from fabric printing to finished product, is carried out by hand within a 16-mile radius in Somerset.

The Experimental Collection

Carousel’s inaugural range comprises 16 different designs, inspired by everything from classical architecture to cheesy knitwear patterns.

The lampshades are produced in small batches, and each one is a unique combination of pattern, colour and fabric.

Sustainability

Carousel is focused on minimising its environmental impact and eliminating manmade materials from its production process.

We use natural, low-input fabrics, such as linen and handwoven cotton, as well as organic cotton or recycled thread and a small amount of plant-based glue to secure the frame bindings.

It’s an ongoing process — we’re not perfect — but we’re always looking for ways to reduce our footprint…
